Pre Workout/Race Drills

Drills are one of the most overlooked parts of a runner's routine. High knees, A-skips, leg swings, glute activation - none of it looks like much on its own, but together these movements do real work before a single mile is logged. Running drills aren't just a warm-up formality. They wake up the neuromuscular system, activate the muscles you're about to rely on, and reinforce good mechanics before fatigue has a chance to break them down. Skip this step and you're starting cold - joints that haven't opened up, a stride pattern that hasn't been reset since your last run.

Runners who build drills into their routine tend to notice the difference in small but meaningful ways: better posture late in a run, fewer nagging compensations, and a stride that feels sharp from the first step instead of sluggish. You don't need to be training at an elite level to benefit. A few focused minutes before every run is one of the simplest, most overlooked ways to run better and stay healthy doing it.
